How It Works

This page is for the skeptic.

We separate what the platform is designed to do from what has been independently tested. Today, the properties below are design goals.

The mathematics existed before binary.

Binary computing has been brilliant for 80 years, and it stores your life as files on other people's drives. This platform is designed to keep your life in a private space of your own. The mathematical foundations are old and honorable.

Fourier

Any structure can be encoded as waves without loss.

Maxwell

Waves compute through interference.

Schrodinger

He gave the exact mathematics of how wave functions evolve.

Feynman

Nature computes by summing possibilities, and the answer survives through reinforcement.

Four design goals.

These are what we are building toward. They have not yet been independently tested, and we will not call them guarantees until they have been.

We do not hold your key

The design goal is that your sign-in signal stays on your machine and your key is not stored by us.

Your space is readable by you

The design goal is that what you keep in your space is readable by you rather than by us.

Presence, not passwords

The design goal is that sign-in depends on you being present at your own device, not on a password or a copied file. This is in testing.

Your device is a doorway

The design goal is that your computer is a doorway to your space while you are there, rather than the place your life is stored.

Everything runs at room temperature on ordinary hardware, with no exotic machines.
